The defence ministry on Wednesday gave the initial approval to capital acquisitions worth Rs 13,165 crore for the armed forces, which range from 25 Dhruv advanced light helicopters (ALHs) to precision-guided munitions, missiles and rocket ammunition. The Defence Acquisitions Council (DAC), chaired by Rajnath Singh, accorded acceptance of necessity (AoN) to several proposals for modernization and operational needs of the Army, Navy and IAF.
